The Second Annual Family Dollar Fabulous held on Friday, October 17 at the Hilton Midtown in New York City was an extraordinary way to celebrate African-American women by highlighting how inner beauty, when combined with unique features, skin tones, and hairstyles, translated to fabulous, fantastic, and fashionable looks for less. The event focused on Family Dollar beauty finds.
Actress Vanessa Williams returned for the second consecutive year as the event spokesperson in which leading beauty brands conducted interactive beauty sessions with their products amid champagne toasts, belly dancing lessons, gourmet cupcakes, signature cocktails, henna tattoo applications, and more! A virtual who’s who of the beauty and fashion industry attended the red carpet event that included Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Cynthia Bailey; Celebrity Stylist to First Lady Michelle Obama, Johnny Wright; Lifetime TV’s Girlfriend Intervention reality TV star, Tracy Balan; Co-creator of The Lipstick Junkies, Africa Miranda; Celebrity stylist to Oprah, Pat Grant Williams, among others.
It was a pleasure to be apart of the event. We, the bloggers and vloggers, were treated to a shopping spree at Family Dollar. I had no idea of the vast majority of beauty products that Family Dollar had to offer. I was excited to see great products like Motions, Soft-Sheen Carson, Dark and Lovely, African Pride, Cantu, and others. You know I had to stock up, so look out a plethora of beauty reviews.
The second day was filled with meet and greets with brand ambassadors from each brand. I learned about the versatility of each of the brands. I was excited to meet Ursula Stephen, celebrity hair stylist and brand ambassador for Motions. I remember when I first started doing hair Motions was my goto product line, so it has a soft spot in my heart. I left the event placing Family Dollar at the top of my list for where to find beauty products within the budget.
Check out the photos and let me know which product line you want me to review.
