Looking for new holiday hair style ideas? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered with all of the holiday beauty tips you need to rock your new hairdo. You will be able to wear this simple holiday updo to any event or holiday gathering.
Check out the step by step on how I created this beautiful updo. I prepped my hair for a roller set using products I bought from Family Dollar. I began by shampooing my hair with Dark and Lovely Anti-Reversion Shampoo and conditioning it with the Anti- Reversion conditioner. They are great for reducing the frizz in my fine, naturally curly hair.
To moisturize my hair I added a dime-sized amount of the African Pride Shea Butter Miracle Leave in conditioner. Next up was the Dark and Lovely Au-Naturale Anti-Shrinkage Coil Soufflé, it really does stretch and elongate my curls. For a bit more hold and bounce I added the Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion.
Next up, I set my hair on magnetic rollers to stretch my hair straight. I also allowed my hair to air dry, this causes the least amount of damage possible to my hair. Once my hair was dry it was time to have fun with a great holiday hairstyle. I applied some Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Gloss Polisher before brushing out the curls.
When I thought of holiday hair ideas for this season, I knew I had to include a braid since they were on most of the fashion show runways this year. To achieve a fun semi crown braid; I section out the crown any of my hair. The remaining hair was placed into a high ponytail. The ponytail and crown area were joined together by a fishtail braid. The braid began at the base of the ponytail and continued across the forehead. Once the braid was completed I loosed each loop to make the braid look fuller and add detail. The end of the braid was secured with a plastic band and tucked under. To make the look more festive feel free to add a hair ornament like a flower or burette.
